High Steer Kit by PETROWORKS

Product Description

PETROWORKS High Steer Kit provides all the needed components to set your Spring Over Lifted Samurai back to it original steering geometry.

When a solid Axle vehicle is lifted the angle between the pitman arm and the right steering knuckle is increased. This angle increase causes more bump steer. Bump steer causes the steering wheel to jerk left and right as the wheels move up and down (as in most off-roading).

To solve this we have added in a  new steering arm onto the top of the Steering Knuckle, with a longer heavy duty drag link and new rod ends.  The kit also comes with and upgraded tie rod (the bar that goes between the two steering knuckles).

Unlike many other kits that place high loads on the right hand brake caliper bracket the Petroworks High Steer Kit balances the steering load between the knuckle arms and the caliper bracket (a heavy duty brace is included to prevent any twisting load on the brake caliper bracket).

All rods are made in house, precision machined with both left and right hand threads, and notched for a wrench to allow easy adjustment of Toe in/Toe Out after installation.

There is no drilling or reaming required.

Kit Includes:

1 Drag Link

1 Tie Rod

1 Steering Arm

1 Steering Arm Brace Bracket

4 Bolts for Brace Bracket

2 Botls to mount Steering Arm

2 Left Hand Thread Rod Ends

2 Right Hand Thread Rod Ends

I searched a half dozen company's for a high steer kit and bought petrowork's product because it was a little cheaper. I don't see how it could be much better, very heavy duty and fits like a glove. Easy to adjust and looks great.

Looked at different products from Trail Tough, Low Range and Trail Gear and this looked to suit my needs the best. This product had a very good fit and finish. Everything installed easily with basic hand tools. If you don't already have one a ball joint fork may be needed for removal of your old stuff. The only glitch, I had was the jamb nuts for the drag link bar needed to be trimmed to allow sufficient adjustment . Everything else was great. After installation and adjustment the handling characterists were dramaticly improved. Noticeable better than stock stuff with a home made Z bar. Great product, most bang for the buck!
