Suzuki uses Hitachi Carburetors on United States model Samurais. This is perhaps one of the most complex carburetor designs on the market and they are next to impossible for the shade tree mechanic to rebuild. We here at Petroworks over the years have grown tired of buying and selling rebuilt carburetors from other rebuilders only to constantly get them back from upset customers due to faulty components or lack of attention to what the real problems are. We rebuild the carburetors with all new seals, gaskets and refurbished components. Each carburetor comes with the CORRECT base gaskets. Yes, we have found that the gaskets used by just about everyone are wrong. Even we fell into a false sense of security until we noticed a difference on the dyno. All carbs are rebuilt in house, installed on a Samurai, and tested on our chassis dynomometer to assure that they function correctly.
There are two Carbs used on Samurais. From 1986-1988 Most Samurais used a 'one port' style carb. From 1988.5 -1989 two port carbs are used. Please check the pictures to be sure that you get the correct carb.
