Many years ago we embarked on a process of building the only larger fuel tank for the Samurai for off-road use. Over 15 months of labor went into making our first tanks. They have been great sellers over the years. One of the major slow downs to our GEN2 tanks were the custom built fuel pump hangers. So back to the drawing board and mold repair for yet a 3rd modification.
Our New GEN 3 improved tank setup now makes it easier for you the customer to retrofit the Non-Fuel pump tanks to an in-tank fuel pump tank (only on the GEN 3 tanks).
Our 15 Gallon tank gives you 50% more fuel capacity. This tank is made from XLPE polyethylene and will never rust or rot out. The 3/16 thick steel skid plate is Zinc plated and affords far better protection than the stock plate. Each tank includes a new sending unit and everything you will need for the installation.
The tanks are available in black and natural (Pictured) colors. The natural is slightly opaque so that the fuel level is visible when you look at it. This can be very comforting when you are trying to decide whether or not you have enough gas to do just one more section of trail or if there is any doubt as to the accuracy of the fuel gauge.
This tank is a direct replacement for non fuel injected cars and for off-road use only.
When swapping in this tank it is a good opportunity to replace the Fuel Filler Hose.

Get new fuel hoses while you're at it

Well built. Keep in mind that you should replace all of 5/16" rubber fuel hose with EFI rated hose which is rated to withstand high pressure. I would recommend Earl's vapor guard which has multiple layers to minimize fuel permeation. The return line is 1/4", I used Continental return hose.

Installation was easy and the fit is perfect!!! Increased range and no more noisy fuel pump either. Great upgrade option to compliment the 1.6 fuel injection swap.

My 30 yo tank was falling apart - smelled gas while driving, and with the leaks and small size, seems like I was at the pump way too often. This new poly tank is great. Fits perfectly. I needed the internal pump (for my tracker motor). With no leaks and 50% more capacity, I'm at the pump far less often. Should have done this years ago.

Tank and guard was very well made. Instructions very good.only issue I had was my old exhaust pipe ran to close to old tank. I had to cut it off and reroute it.
